General Update
Hey all. Dylz here wanting to give an update on the general goings on for me. I have been shifting my focuses so much that I feel more burnt out then usual. I am currently taking a break from forcing myself to make things and am focusing on a different area of interest. I am spending some time learning how to program. Not taking a course but just learning by doing. I have done some programing before in the past just learning it randomly on some occasions. Its one of those things I tend to come back around to. Wanting to make a game or software or something along those lines. Really learning how to program has been something I have always started and quitted. Many many times in fact. I think its because I get to a certain point and it literally hurts my brain. Odd I know but I googled that and it could mean its because I'm creating neural pathways when learning. With art I always seem to do that more randomly.
This past year I have learned that all though I love art and making art I also want to be able to do something with my art. Game engines have progressed alot in the last ten years thats for sure. I made 3d models and simple animations for small mobile games but they never took off. Just a bunch of kids on the internet trying to make a game. Not the first time and many have succeed in that field. I however have loved the idea of making games. Games like Pokemon and Final Fantasy. They were my favorite as a kid. Then I found Elderscrolls Oblivion on the Xbox at the time. Loved that game for the longest. Practically refused to play any other game except for Pokemon on the Nintendo DS on occasion. Then I quit playing games for a long time. Mostly was just drawing after that or running around outside. Then I grew up some more had to get a Job and have been working many different jobs since.
I'm not saying ill make a game. I have some app ideas to get started with learning. I just think it would be fun to make something more interactable. Kinda like web development. Its fun to code a website because you can get real time feedback for what your trying to achieve. Especially if you are using an IDE that shows you the changes while you type it out. So now I am actually taking my time and reading alot more about how to code. Plenty of online resources to learn about python as well as game development in the Godot engine.
I am still doing art of course. I just am focusing on other things to allow the creative mind to come out more naturally. Trying to force my own creativity has lead to much faster burn out than expected. So after looking over my behaviors and the moments I felt most excited when working on stuff I realize that the only way to move forward out of my rut is to learn a new skill. The one that I have been pushing off for along time. The might beast that is Programming. But you know taking my time on actually learning it and how to apply that knowledge.
That's it for this update. Thanks for reading.
